MONO MATERIAL
In our pursuit of timeless quality and responsible design, we have chosen to create every BelowTen garment in one and the same material – from outer fabric and lining to pocket lining and stuff sack. With our proprietary TENYL fabric as the foundation, we combine innovation, sustainability and performance in a holistic concept that permeates every detail. The result is garments with a sophisticated feel, extended lifespan and a design built for circularity. MONO MATERIAL is for us setting a new standard for sustainability – with feel and style.
FREE FILLING
Traditionally, insulating garments have contained down or various types of synthetic insulation materials that are fixed as “padding”. With BelowTen we want to set a new standard that combines the unique “hand feel” of down with a recycled fiber that offers both comfort and practical properties. To achieve this feeling, we use the Free Filling method. This means that we work with a recycled synthetic fiber that is not fixed – the same technology used in the production of down garments. The result is solid craftsmanship where each garment and each size gets its unique character. FREE FILLING, in combination with TENYL, creates the special feeling and expression that characterizes BelowTen garments.
TENYL
We have developed a unique fabric in close collaboration with our textile supplier, which we have chosen to call TENYL. It is made from 100% recycled nylon that is textured to provide a more natural feel. With a tight construction and a fine yarn count (20 denier), we achieve a lightweight fabric without compromising on durability and performance. Combined with Free Filling, TENYL creates a unique blend of feel, appearance, and performance.
TRIMS
All our garments feature innovative and meticulously designed details of the highest premium quality and performance. We include no unnecessary elements that might break or lack relevance to functionality. An example of our innovation is our stoppers in the hood, which are integrated into the eyelet for the drawstring—no loose stoppers that can irritate. Our ID label is made from Tyvek, a material that is highly durable and long-lasting, meeting the standards that BelowTen guarantees. The difference lies in the details, performance, and tactile feel.
